Each Sunday morning during the school year, the children in our church begin their worship experience attending the Morning Worship with their families. As the lessons are read as well as “The Children’s Time” in the service, they become aware of the theme for our Sunday School lesson for that day. It is at that time that the children move to their “special room”. Here we enjoy a “family grouping” where the children are able to enjoy a time of singing, crafts and becoming engaged in the lessons being taught as well as quiet activities in our “book corner”.
A highlight of each year is the presentation of our Christmas Pageant. Our students enjoy opportunities for drama as well as learning and singing many songs. During the season of Easter one of our congregational members extends an invitation to work in her green house in preparation for a plant sale to raise funds to “Send Kids to Camp Luther” followed by an Easter egg hunt! We return to the same location for our annual Church Picnic!
At the present time we enjoy having more than 20 students in our Sunday School. We follow an “on line” curriculum that coordinates with the lectionary that our church follows. Several of our teachers are retired school teachers or are currently teaching in local schools. is a very happy place where each child feels welcome and valued.
