Welcome to Christ Lutheran Church
We are committed to walking with our Indigenous siblings in their struggle to be free of the oppression that they have had to and continue to endure at the hand of the settlers in this land.
“Honouring Memories, Planting Dreams” which is celebrated in May and June, invites people of all ages to plant heart gardens in memory of children lost to the residential school system, to honour residential school survivors and their families and support the legacy of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).
This act of planting represents our commitment to reconciliation. #TRCHeartGarden
You are invited to make a heart at home and come plant it in the heart garden at the church on Saturday, June 19 from 10am-12pm. Art supplies will be available outside for those who would like to make a heart at the church.
A Renewed Call to Reconciliation
A Pastoral Letter from the National and
Synodical Bishops of the ELCIC
“It has been devastating and heartbreaking to hear in the news that the remains of 215 children buried in unmarked graves have been found on the Kamloops Indian Residential School grounds,” say ELCIC National and Synod Bishops in a letter to the church.
The letter invites ELCIC members to join in prayer for the families of those children, for the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation, for the City of Kamloops and for First Nations Communities across Canada as they grieve this loss. As well as a renewed call to re-engage in the work of reconciliation. Read the full letter here.

Continued financial support is needed
Activities have come to a temporary halt, however, our expenses continue. Donations can be made by means of the DONATE button on this site . We are also thankful for those whose financial support is by way of pre-authorized remittances. For those who do not use this means of supporting our ministry we urge you to consider it at this time. Click on “support” in NAVIGATION or that tab on the banner at the top of this page for more information and access to an application form.
We strive to be a welcoming community where the love of God is proclaimed and practiced. We see ourselves as but one part of God’s family and there is always room for more. Come and be a part of the family!
